Fur: Mostly fiery red-orange with white tail tips, jaw, chest, and belly, and smokey-black ear tips, calves, feet, hands, and forearms. He also has a similarly dark patch on his head, running from the back of his ears to just above his eyes.
Eyes: A striking blue like the core of a powerful flame. Sometimes they almost look ablaze....

Notes: Other than the above, his general anatomy (limbs, tails, skull structure) is similar to Victi's own, given that they're of the same species. He is also born-with-nine-tails, which is part of how he is identified as a Guardian of their home forest, the Greatwood.

As Victi's Partner

In this context, Ni serves most prominently as a grounding force for Victi, helping to tame some of the most unstable, dangerous, or purely destructive aspects of her personality, even when he isn't present. He is Her Person above anyone else, and the only person whose approval or lack there of is enough to change how she works. He is, and has almost always been, the ONE constant in her life, and in the time they were apart she became all the more aware of that value, having obsessively bound herself to someone else almost immediately, yet still feeling wrong. In most cases this kind of deep attachment to someone, to the point of needing a surrogate of them if they aren't around (in a broad sense) is the root of a very, very dangerous and unhealthy relationship of either control or obsession. In this case they make it work, but a deep look at the relationship between Victi and Ni can read as disturbing to people who don't know them well.

While Victi's pride serves as a guideline for how she restrains herself, who she does and doesn't consider valid prey/targets, and how she deals with them, Ni's morality makes her stick to that as closely possible, staying in line with it both because she understands it and because she will always do her best to maintain that most important connection in her life. She knows he can tell if she's left out something she's done which will displease him, and that she will always go "home" to him eventually, home being defined for her as wherever he is.

This all said, he loves Victi, not just someone wearing her face (as a few succubi have learned the hard way), and that includes everything from her devious, brilliant, calculating mind to the wild whirlwind of chaos and enthusiasm her force-of-nature-like adventuring spirit caries. She shows a warmer, sweeter, more eagerly affectionate side to herself when she's with him, but she is still ultimately herself. It helps that focusing on him makes avoiding the trickiness of dealing with people easier, too, letting her be more open with less fear of that putting her in a type of danger she can't deal with.

In the Crew:

Ni's role is as the Plasma Storm Crew's battlefield psychic. He helps keep tech-free lines of communication open, protects against psionic attack, enables psionic attack, helps identify hostiles via thought patterns, and provides front-line psi-fire boosted brawling power. He also helps manage the health of the "greenhouse" which sustains the ship's nearly natural manasphere, and does most of the cooking for the crew.

Even More Broadly:

Nitalus is a Guardian of the Great Wood, a telepathic born-with-nine-tails from the Great Wood who has a natural gift for listening to the Homeworld's ecosystem to help keep it healthy. He's not the only one by a long shot, many of the older Guardians are still alive and the odds of another being born before any of the others die are very good, but it is still noteworthy, and will be detailed further under his skills and abilities.

While Ni isn't as heavily intellectual as Victi, he is pretty smart and has spent enough time around her to be able to at least grasp the basics of whatever she's talking about. For example, talking about relativity, he could wrap his head around the fact that near-light speeds cause time, mass, and space-dilation, and that mass and energy are related, and some of why that all is, even though the proofs behind the Lorentz Transformations and other relevant equations are far beyond him.

He's also used to looking at whatever Victi notices in a situation and spending a little more time looking at it, letting him pick up on things she may have missed. This applies even more in social situations, where she misses a lot of things or has trouble interpreting them fully, while he was more properly socialized and is more neurotypical, as well as being a telepath.

Lastly, the ability to accept that not all problems are puzzles to be solved, and that common sense and backing off can be more important than winning whatever perceived contest is in progress is a powerful and important tool, especially given who he's usually dealing with.

Sixty years of martial arts experience, a century as a mid-sized predator and adventurer in the Greatwood before that, and general physical training as part of discipline and psionics teachings have left Ni in breathtaking physical condition, augmented by magic and psionics. He is capable of incredible explosive strength, and admirable, though not exceptional, endurance. He is still an ambush predator by nature and isn't suited for hauling heavy loads for hours upon hours on end like, say, a human. That said, he is more than strong enough to hurt himself if he strikes something solid enough without either wearing equipment or making appropriate use of his powers, and to move several large bags of soil around when gardening.

Without spells or psi he isn't as swift as Victi, or as capable a jumper, she has more muscle in her legs and less mass overall, but he is definitely superhuman in terms of leaping and sprinting, able to jump more than his own height straight up and run short distances (sub 200 meters) faster than any human olympian, though would fall well short of qualifying for 400m and would have difficulty even completing a marathon.

His preferred martial arts style is similar to judo or jujitsu, taking advantage of holds and throws over strikes, and prefers to use strikes and leg sweeps to throw a foe off-balance rather than injuring them. It also puts an unusual emphasis on chokes and other holds near the head and neck since it's designed to facilitate psychic attack rather than physical attacks. He will sometimes wear bracers with high-tech ridges which make chokes quicker and safer for silent takedowns as a result of that training.

His tails are also a useful tool, being long, strong, and surprisingly heavy with all that fluff, enabling interesting leg-sweeps and helping him keep his balance when needed.
